Bacon Lovers … and Vegan Collide!

Vegan Bacon Recipe
Yummy vegan version of bacon … savory, spicy and addictive!
Or you could call it, vegan jerky.
Inspiration for this recipe came from an original bacon recipe by Markus Rothkranz.
Vegan Bacon Recipe
Equipment Needed: Dehydrator
Yield: Approximately
Ingredients:
- Coconut meat from 2 young thai coconuts
- 2 tablespoons coconut aminos
- 1 tablespoon wheat free tamari sauce
- 1 teaspoon chipotle powder (if this is too strong, use 1/2 teaspoon)
- 1 teaspoon paprika powder (if this is too strong, use 1/2 teaspoon)
Preparation Steps:
- Remove coconut meat from coconuts, and cut into bacon slices (note: save coconut water and drink as is, or add to your favorite smoothie)
- In a small bowl, add liquid ingredients and spices and mix well.
- Coat each slice of coconut and place on teflex dehydrator sheet and dehydrate 4-6 hours or until desired texture is achieved.
Note: after approximately 4 hours in dehydrator, remove teflex sheet and continue dehydrating process.

Coat coconut strips with bacon sauce.
Note: Get creative and try different spice and herb combinations for bacon sauce.

Place coconut strips on dehydrator teflex sheets.
